10 Million iPhone SE Units Sold Last Quarter, Analyst Says

The 4-inch iPhone SE launched in March may have been responsible for about a quarter of Apple’s total iPhone sales in the just-gone fiscal quarter, Credit Suisse analyst Kulbinder Garcha has suggested.

With July 26 set to see Apple announce its financial results, including iPhone sales numbers, for the third fiscal quarter of 2016, Garcha reckons that the Cupertino company has sold 40.7 million iPhones during that period – of which 10 million would have been the iPhone SE, he has further projected.

The SE is the lowest-priced iPhone in Apple’s lineup, starting at $399 for the 16GB model. However, it also includes the latest A9 processor, making it a strong draw for budget-conscious buyers.

The SE’s price could fall to $299 later this year; we analyze why in the new issue of our digital periodical, which can be yours when you subscribe via the free AppleMagazine app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
