14 and 18-core iMac Pro shipping dates improve

Shipping dates for the new iMac Pro with 14 or 18 cores have improved, with some consumers now expecting to receive their devices in early January.

When Apple’s new flagship Mac was released last week, it was only available in 8- and 10-core models, with 14- and 18-core models expected to be shipped within six to eight weeks. Now, those shipping estimates have improved to as early as January 8, bringing them in line with their lower-core siblings, meaning pro users will get their hands on a new Mac sooner.

It’s expected that, once the initial batch of iMac Pros are shipped, Apple will be able to improve its efficiency and delivery options, and therefore bring down shipping estimates.

As previously reported on AppleMagazine, the new iMac Pro was expected to be available to view and purchase in Apple stores around the world this week, but it appears as though Apple has missed this deadline. New reports now suggest that Apple will show off their new iMacs in store from this Saturday, just in time for last-minute holiday shoppers.
