1/4 of Windows desktop users intend to switch to Mac

Over 98% of Mac owners will not make the switch to a Windows laptop or desktop in the next 6-24 months but vow to remain with Mac.

This data is according to a recent survey, which also indicates 21% of Windows laptop owners intend to switch to a Mac.  Even more Windows desktop owners intend to make the switch to an Apple Mac, a shocking 25%, 1/4 of current users.

The most likely group to switch from Windows to Mac were those in the upper income bracket, with 20% intending to switch, not unsurprising due to Apple’s higher prices.  More surprisingly, however, 14% of lower income groups (earning $20,000 or less each year) indented to change.

However, many of those surveyed were under the age of 20, suggesting they may be offered financial aid by their parents.  This wasn’t wasn’t taken into account when the survey was conducted.

These figures are based on a survey of 6,000 Windows PC owners over the age of 18 in the United States.  It is perhaps not that surprising that many more are making the switch to Mac, rather than the other way around, but just how many intend to do so is shocking.  Apple’s domination continues to grow and grow.
