Apple has just introduced several improvements to its 15-inch MacBook Pro and 27-inch iMac computers. The company’s marketing chief, Phil Schiller, has enthused that “we are thrilled to bring the new Force Touch trackpad, faster flash storage, and longer battery life to the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display”, while the iMac now boasts an improved display and processor.
The MacBook Pro has long been a highly desirable notebook, and the new version, pictured above, comes with the trackpad that has been a key part of the 13-inch model since earlier this year. Purchasers of the new 15-inch version can also enjoy a speedier SSD drive, better graphics hardware and a battery life that, according to Apple, now clocks in at nine hours. The model with a 2.2 Ghz processor and 256GB of flash storage will be priced at $1,999, while the more advanced 2.5Ghz version with 512GB of storage will cost a minimum of $2,499.
Meanwhile, the new iMac desktop now has a 5K display, a 3.3Ghz Intel Core i5 processor, an AMD Radeon R9 M290 graphics chip and 8GB of RAM. This computer will cost $1,999 for the most basic model and at least $2,299 for the most high-end model, which has a 3.5Ghz chip.
