Apple will refresh its iPad lineup around next spring, says the Japanese blog Macotakara – and we can expect new iPad Pro models in the screen sizes 12.9-inch, 10.1-inch and even 7.9-inch.
Citing “well-placed sources”, Macotakara, which has a history of reliable scoops about future Apple products, says that the new 12.9-inch model will get a 12-megapixel rear camera, True Tone flash, and True Tone display, a feature which debuted with the 9.7-inch iPad Pro launched in March.
Meanwhile, a 7.9-inch iPad Pro will succeed the iPad Mini 4 and get quad speakers, 12-megapixel rear camera, True Tone flash and True Tone display. There will also be a Smart Connector and presumably, though Macotakara doesn’t spell it out, optional accessories to match. Plus, a 10.1-inch Pro will reportedly succeed the current 9.7-inch model.
The new report has echoes of predictions made in August by another reliable source, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo – though Kuo had predicted a 10.5-inch Pro rather than a 10.1-inch variant, and also made no mention of the future of the 7.9-inch iPad line.
