4-Inch “iPhone 5se” to Include Live Photos, Report Claims

That upcoming 4-inch iPhone will likely be called not the “iPhone 6c” or “iPhone 5e”, but instead the “iPhone 5se”, and come with an A8 chip, Apple Pay support and Live Photos, according to a new report.

That report is from 9to5Mac, which cites unnamed sources claiming that the supposed “iPhone 6c” in the video posted earlier this week by M.I.C. Gadget is a fake.

These sources say that the actual handset’s “se” suffix has been considered by Apple employees to indicate either a “special edition” 4-inch model or an “enhanced” version of the iPhone 5s.

Technical changes that the new phone will have over its 2013 predecessor, pictured above, include – say these sources – curved glass edges, an NFC chip for Apple Pay, A8 and M8 chips and the Live Photos feature that debuted with the iPhone 6s. 3D Touch, however, will be omitted.

The “iPhone 5se” will take the “price point” of the iPhone 5s, which will “likely” be discontinued. We can apparently expect the new device to be unveiled in March before a release in late March or early April.
