6th Generation iPod Touch Tipped for Launch at WWDC in June

Thought that you had seen the last of the iPod Touch with the fifth generation device revealed back in 2012? So had many people, apparently. However, there have been recent reports that Apple will be officially unveiling a new, sixth generation iPod Touch at the next World Wide Developers Conference, which will be in early June and which Apple will be hosting.

Apple has not yet openly confirmed or denied these stories, but there are several specific features that the new Touch has been tipped to include. The device is expected to be something of a cross between the last version of the iPod Touch and a recently-released iPhone. New additions to the Touch line could include Apple’s own digital wallet system Apple Pay, a beefy A9 microprocessor and the upcoming iOS 9 operating system pre-installed.

Budding purchasers of the new Touch are also expected to have the choice of two screen sizes, 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch, and six colors: silver, red, blue, pink, yellow and space gray.

It won’t be until the World Wide Developers Conference, which is otherwise known as WWDC and will be held from June 8 until 12, before we can confirm whether the sixth generation iPod Touch really will have all of these features… provided, of course, that a new version of the mobile media player is even being prepared for launch there at all. Let’s wait and see…
