A Dog Who Couldn’t Wait to Get His Paws on an iPhone 5

Take a look at the photo to the left. This isn't just a dog sitting amongst garbage. This is a dog sitting amongst expensive garbage. This is the remains of a brand new iPhone 5. Maybe the black lab wanted to use Siri to find the nearest dog food store. Regardless, you know there is a person that belongs to the phone that isn't very happy with this dog.

The photo was picked up off Reddit, with the story that this man asked for the delivery of the iPhone 5 to be left on his back porch. That makes sense, as if he wasn't going to be home, he could make sure it was left in the back where someone walking by wouldn't be able to steal it. In these weeks surrounding the iPhone 5 release, no one wants to have a box of that size sitting on their doorstep.

Apparently this man either didn't know the dog had been left outside or forgot. The lovable canine was probably hoping there was a new chew toy inside the box. Instead, he found a boring iPhone 5. The man had bought the iPhone 5 for his wife. Something tells me she's a little disappointed.

Some on Reddit have claimed the photo is a fake, believing that the box doesn't look slobbered on or torn up with paws. They think it has the marks of a person opening it, and they claim that the phone looks to still be intact. But when I look at it I see the front and the back of the phone separated and probably some parts scattered about.

It's definitely not unimaginable that a dog could cause that type of destruction. We had an English Setter mix who had severe separation anxiety. She was a great dog … when we were home. When she was left alone, she was known to eat the dashboard of a truck, eat a Chicago Bears jacket, pull vertical blinds down, plug up the bath tub and turn on the water, and find a way to escape from a padlocked crate. I wouldn't put anything past her.

At least she always appeared guilty. This dog in this picture looks like he's quite proud of himself, similar to when dogs bring you a dead bird or mouse. They are proud of their effort, just as this dog seems to be.
