ABC Cancels Marvel Drama Agent Carter After Two Seasons

It looks like we won’t be seeing any more of the critically acclaimed Marvel drama series Agent Carter; according to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC has cancelled it after two seasons.

Though the series, starring British actress Hayley Atwell as spy and Captain America’s love interest Peggy Carter, was critically acclaimed, it never quite made it in the ratings battle. Even the decision to give it a second season had surprised – and the show ended with a rating of just 1.4 among adults under 50.

Ultimately, Agent Carter fell far short with viewers in comparison to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which will now be the sole Marvel drama running in ABC’s 2016-17 season. Nonetheless, we reckon that the network remains likely to, in future, consider various other small screen additions to the Marvel universe. As our lead article in the new issue of AppleMagazine attests, there’s no shortage of follow-up fever.
