Adele’s New James Bond “Skyfall” Single Breaks iTunes Top Ten

The music world has been abuzz lately thanks to vocal powerhouse artist Adele, taking over the duties of crafting a new hit single for the upcoming James Bond action thriller, Skyfall.

The film is slotted to release on November 9th, but that hasn’t stopped Adele’s amazing single from climbing its way quickly up the iTunes Single’s Chart. Skyfall (the same name as the film it represents) is currently placed in the number two spot on the chart, followed closely by the cultural firestorm, Gangnam Style from Korean hip-hop artist Psy. The only single that has managed to top Skyfall is Taylor Swift’s I Knew You Were Trouble, which is featured on her upcoming album, Red.

It isn’t just iTunes that is gaining the singer fame either. Her new single managed to hit the number eight position on the Billboard Top 100 Singles Chart, which also measures streaming and digital content sales. This makes Skyfall Adele’s biggest hit single to date. And its no wonder the production is receiving so much attention, considering all of the work that went into it. The single was produced in London with the help of 77 talented orchestra members. It only took one day after its release for the single to crack into the iTunes Top Ten.

The Skyfall theme has managed to go far beyond expectations and is already being considered as one of the best “Bond themes” of our current generation. You can grab this beautiful slow-tempo ballad from the iTunes store for the low price of USD $1.29.
