Apple will release the second-generation AirPods Pro 2 in the fourth quarter of 2021, and they’ll be priced at $249, according to a new leak.
Though it had previously been suggested that the company would launch AirPods Pro 2 sooner, reliable insider LeaksApplePro has now shared some interesting information on the price, release date, and new features.
AirPods Pro gen 2
-249$
-Better battery life
-A bit better of noise cancelling.
-Ambient light sensors.
Overall, a not so great update, more of like the AirPods gen 2 over AirPods gen 1.
Expect them to release in Q4 2021 or Q1 2022.— LeaksApplePro (@LeaksApplePro) October 19, 2020
Taking to Twitter, LeaksApplePro confirmed that Apple would price the second-gen wireless AirPods Pro at $249, and introduce battery life improvements and new noise-cancelling functionality.
Apple will add “ambient light sensors,” though it’s unknown what this means.
One insider has suggested that new light sensors could be added so that Apple could track your heart rate, tying it back in with Apple Watch. We’ve already seen features like this introduced on third-party wireless headphones from manufacturers such as Jabra.
What’s perhaps disappointing to hear is that AirPods Pro 2 won’t be coming until the fourth quarter of 2021, or even the first quarter of 2022, though we are expecting to get our hands on AirPods Studio before the end of 2020 or at least in the first quarter of 2021, so there’s something to look forward to in that regard. A third-generation AirPods could also drop.
