All New Myspace Launching Soon

Well, you could have told me that Myspace was all washed up, and I would have believed you 100%. I went to visit the site just out of curiosity and it looks like they are actually hard at work on a big re-launch. I admit I had some great memories in the past with Myspace, and I am excited to be a part of the “New” Myspace.

From what I gathered, you can expect some big changes. However, the company will still aim to keep that creative control that was available to users in the past.  Judging by the amount of creativity and overall design of the new site, this is the social network for artists and musicians. Some of the new features include being able to create and share your own playlists, shop for music, and listen to online radio.

One major market Myspace is targeting is big name musicians, showing off the site’s ability to sell their music and record data. One example I saw was, “females who downloaded and listened to your song this week – 72%”. They are making it clear that they are giving artists and musicians an actual tool to help further their careers.

Even though we are seeing a rebirth of Myspace, they have admitted that Facebook and Twitter are king and queen by giving you the ability to sign into Myspace using either login. This isn’t a sign of weakness or being the underdog, it’s just plain smart in my opinion.  I don’t want to have to remember another login and I’m sure others feel the same way.
