There’s another new music streaming service on the market, and it’s Amazon Music Unlimited – which allows ad-free streaming at three different per-month price tiers, the lowest being $3.99 for Echo users.
While Amazon already allows subscribers to its Prime service to stream from a music library of over a million songs, Amazon Music Unlimited is a stand-alone service that offers access to tens of millions of songs. The monthly charge is $7.99 for Prime members and $9.99 for non-members of Prime.
However, along with a free 30-day trial, Amazon is also offering a $3.99 Music Unlimited plan for streaming music only to Amazon’s Echo connected speakers. There will also be a $14.99 per month family subscription plan that, MacRumors reports, should become available later this year.
On an iOS device, you can use AMU through the Amazon Music app, while Echo owners can issue voice commands to play particular songs, such as those from a specific decade or to suit a mood. Amazon Music Unlimited is live in the US from today and set to hit the UK, Germany and Australia later in 2016.
