As previously reported here at AppleMagazine, Apple is set to hold its 2022 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) from June 6 until June 10, with the event being delivered largely online for the third year in a row.
We say “largely”, because there is actually an in-person element to proceedings this year, the Cupertino company having arranged for a special event to take place at Apple Park on June 6.
The event was advertised as providing an opportunity for some developers and students to watch the customary keynote and State of the Union videos on-site – and now, it seems Apple has started to send out invites to the developers who were randomly selected to attend.
Some of those lucky enough to have been invited have been sharing the email they received from Apple with their online followers. The email reads: “We’re thrilled to let you know that you’re invited to kick off WWDC22 at Apple Park on June 6, 2022.”

The communication goes on to state that those wishing to attend the event need to RSVP by 6pm PT (9pm ET) on May 18. So, if you have received this email in your inbox, you should be sure to respond swiftly – otherwise, your invite will be offered to another applicant.
Apple has also been sending out communications to developers who haven’t been successful in being randomly selected, nonetheless informing them that more spaces could become available, based on whether those initially invited reply to confirm they will be there on the day.
It is expected that Apple will use the event to show off a host of software updates, including iOS 16, iPadOS 16, watchOS 9, and tvOS 16, as well as the next variant of macOS. It has also been speculated that the company might talk about its yet-to-be-released M2 chips that have apparently been undergoing testing in at least nine new Mac models.
