Apple accidentally leaks its Special Event date: September 10

Behind them is an enormous image of Apple's green iPhone's camera array, highlighting the three camera lenses and flash, perhaps subtly referencing the Department of Justice's ongoing legal battle with tech giants.

Apple has accidentally leaked the date for its upcoming September Event.

As first reported by 9to5Mac, Apple scheduled a live event test card on YouTube, setting the date to September 10, suggesting that new iPhones and iPads could be revealed soon.

Of course, the date is yet to be officially announced by the Cupertino company, and as 2019’s Special Event was also held on September 10, it could be that Apple was simply testing its live stream protocols with last year’s pre-programmed date.

However, September 10 falls on a Thursday and it could indeed be the day that new hardware is unveiled.

It had previously been suggested that Apple would delay this year’s September event due to the coronavirus pandemic, with iPhone 12 models set to be pushed back by several weeks.

Apple could, however, use the September 10 to premiere a new iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac models, and then tease that the iPhone 12 could be coming at a later date. With this year’s event likely to be virtual, in the same vein as the Worldwide Developers Conference, it appears that the rulebook has been torn up, with all usual traditions out of the window.
