Apple alerts investors and customers that iPhone 14 Pro units are running low

Apple has made the unusual move of releasing a statement to warn of iPhone 14 Pro supply issues.

The company released a note to warn investors and customers that its iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max availability was ‘constrained’ following the closures of factories in China amidst COVID-19 restrictions increasing.

Because of this, Apple is lowering its shipment estimates for the upcoming holiday period, which could impact revenue figures for the quarter. As a result of the supply chain issues, consumers might have to wait longer for their iPhone 14 Pro model – and in some cases, they might miss the all-important Christmas deadline.

“COVID-19 restrictions have temporarily impacted the primary iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max assembly facility in Zhengzhou, China. The facility is currently operating at a significantly reduced capacity. As we have done throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we are prioritizing the health and safety of the workers in our supply chain,” Apple said in a statement.

“We continue to see strong demand for iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models. However, we now expect lower iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max shipments than we previously anticipated, and customers will experience longer wait times to receive their new products.”

“We are working closely with our supplier to return to normal production levels while ensuring the health and safety of every worker.”

Right now, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models are showing a four-week delay on Apple.com in the United States and in other key markets. By comparison, the standard iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are seeing deliveries within the week.
