Apple and (RED) celebrate 15 years of partnership

PRODUCT RED

Apple has spent 15 years in partnership with (RED), a charity that raises funds with the goal of eliminating HIV/AIDS in several African countries. Profits from PRODUCT(RED) devices, such as the PRODUCT(RED) iPhone 13 and the PRODUCT(RED) Apple Watch Series 7, are donated to this cause.

The partnership has raised almost $270 million to date, which has allowed (RED) to reach millions of people who require education, care and treatment for HIV and AIDS. In light of the coronavirus pandemic, however, the partnership decided to redirect eligible proceeds to Global Fundā€™s COVID-19 support.

In 2020 and 2021, the profits that Apple donated to (RED) went to provide support for health systems in Africa that were imperiled by the pandemic, as well as ensuring the hard work the partnership had done in the fight against HIV and AIDS was not threatened.

Apple has suggested that throughout 2022, the money generated from the (RED) partnership will be distributed between both causes, in the continued fight against these two pandemics.
