Apple announces expansion of (RED) range to fight against HIV/AIDS

Apple has announced that it has expanded its (RED) partnership to fight against HIV/AIDS and protect communities from COVID-19.

The company paired up with (RED) back in 2006, and has since donated more than $250 million to the HIV/AIDs programs to help prevent, test, and counsel those who suffer from the disease.

More recently, Apple has expanded its (RED) program to cover all of its iPhones and Apple Watches, offering a stunning red color for those who want something more “out there” than the standard space gray devices.

The company says that its grants have helped more than 10.8 million people with care and support services, distributing more than 167 million HIV tests, and offering 13.8 million people access to antiretroviral (ARV) treatment; a truly impressive feat for a small campaign.

Apple has announced a new range of products for the holiday season, including the new iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, and Apple Watch Series 6, and the company has confirmed that 100% of proceeds from (PRODUCT)RED purchases will go to the Global Fund’s COVID-19 Response to ensure that the world’s most vulnerable communities can be protected.

The company will also donate $1 for every purchase made via Apple Pay on Apple.com, in the Apple Store app, and at Apple Stores, to help the Global Fund’s COVID-19 Response through December 7.
