Apple has announced the iPhone 13 range at its California Streaming event.

The company showed off this year’s new smartphones, which feature a bunch of changes including new color options, improved camera functionality, and, of course, better battery life and improved performance.

In a more toned-down affair compared with last year’s bumper iPhone 12 release, the new iPhone 13 and 13 mini sport the most advanced dual-camera system ever on iPhone, whilst the Pro and Pro Max models come with new Ultra Wide, Wide, and Telephoto cameras that capture stunning photos and video, powered by the unmatched performance of A15 Bionic.

All four of this year’s models come with the A15 Bionic chip, which offers better performance and improved battery life, as well as a Super Retina XDR display on the iPhone 13 and mini, and an all-new Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion featuring an adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz on the Pro and Pro Max models.

Apple has also doubled the entry-level storage on the iPhone to 128GB at no additional cost to consumers.

On the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, the new camera system is complemented by computational photography features such as Photographic Styles which allow users to personalize the look of images in the Camera, as well as Night Mode on all cameras. Apple introduced Cinema mode on the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max, offering depth-of-field transitions, macro video, Time-lapse and Slo-mo, and better low-light performance.

Across all four models, Apple has introduced a customized hardware design to allow for more 5G bands, meaning it to work in more places on 5G for greater coverage and performance. The company says that it will support 200 carriers in 60 countries around the world by the end of this year, offering improved performance.

Users will be able to preorder the iPhone 13 range from 5 a.m. PDT on Friday, September 17, with availability beginning Friday, September 24. Pricing on this year’s iPhone range mirrors 2020’s, with the iPhone 13 mini available for $699, iPhone 13 for $799, iPhone 13 Pro for $999 before trade-in, and iPhone 13 Pro Max at $1,099.
