Apple announces iPhone X with wireless charging and facial recognition

Apple has officially announced the iPhone X Edition at this year’s Special Event.

The new phone, which starts at $999, marks ten years of the iPhone, and comes with a wide range of new features, including a 5.8-inch OLED display, slimmer bezels, wireless charging capability and facial recognition technology known as Face ID.

It’s the first iPhone not to feature a physical home button, and instead relies on gestures and shortcuts to visit the home screen, switch between apps, and other functionality.

The new OLED display featured on the iPhone X Edition features stunning true-to-life colors, improved viewing angles, brighter and more vivid colors, better contrast and better power efficiency.

The smartphone, which will be available in Silver, Black, and new color Brush Gold, is available to preorder from October 27 and will ship in the United States from November 3. Oh, and the new AirPower mat will ship next year, so you can charge your iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods without wires.
