Apple has officially unveiled the tenth-generation iPad via a press release on Apple.com.
For several months now, it has been rumored that the Cupertino company would overhaul the entry-level iPad to make it more competitive and give consumers a choice between the cheaper iPad and more expensive models, such as the iPad mini, iPad Air, and iPad Pro, and this year’s upgrade introduces a number of exciting changes.
For the first time, the entry-level iPad is all-screen, making it the final iPad to be given the full-screen treatment. As is the case on the iPad Air and iPad mini, Apple hasn’t added Face ID to this model; instead, users can unlock their iPads with the Touch ID button which is now mounted onto the Power button of the device.
Other new features include the option to purchase a 5G-enabled cellular model, a new A14 chip that’s 30% faster than its predecessor, a larger 10.5-inch display and a USB-C port, making it the final iPad to transition to USB-C.
