Apple has announced a Special Event to be held on October 18.
The Cupertino company last held a virtual conference in September where Tim Cook and Co showed off the new iPhone 13, Apple Watch Series 7, and stunning new iPad mini, which was redesigned from the ground up. However, many expected Apple to use the event to show off other new products such as the third-generation AirPods and a redesigned MacBook Pro, which is expected to feature an M2 chip, an all-new look, and the return of MagSafe.
Now that an October event has been confirmed, we can safely assume that these products will be announced at the conference, and will perhaps go on sale the following week. Other things we could expect from the event include the release date of the Apple Watch Series 7, which is right now a mystery, and the release date for macOS Monterey. Apple’s Mac operating system typically receives an October release, announced at an Apple event.

Other items Apple could announce at this upcoming event include a redesigned Mac mini, and perhaps even an upgrade to the 27-inch iMac range. The smaller iMac has been given a new look, so it’s likely the larger variant is also expected to receive some attention, and perhaps even given a new ‘Pro’ nickname following the discontinuation of the original iMac Pro.
