Apple has introduced a number of changes coming to the Apple Fitness+ platform this September.
The Cupertino company announced the changes at its California Streaming event, where it also showed off new iPhones, Apple Watches, and iPads. The company will offer a new Guided Meditation service as part of the new fitness package, allowing users to practice mindfulness anywhere, anytime, as well as Pilates.
The new workout options will be available from September 27.
Later in the year, Apple will also bring Group Workouts with SharePlay to iPhones and iPads, allowing users to work out with up to 32 people at the same time to keep each other motivated. Consider them the modern version of a workout class at the local gym, helping people stay connected whilst they work out from their homes.
Apple has also confirmed that its Fitness+ service will be introduced in dozens of new countries from late 2021, including Austria, Brazil, Colombia, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Arab Emirates. Apple will only offer its content in English, but will add subtitles in six languages, so users can experience workouts from wherever in the world they might be.
Speaking of the changes, Jay Blahnik, Appleโs senior director of Fitness Technologies, said: “Whether youโre just getting started, trying something new, or switching up how you train your mind and body, the amazing and welcoming Fitness+ trainer team is here to help users live a healthy lifestyle, no matter where they are in their fitness journey. We are excited to be introducing new workouts that bring Fitness+ users more options to stay active and motivated, plus immersive guided Meditation experiences that are approachable for all and easy to fit into your day. With new ways to work out together or alone โ and coming to more countries later this year โ we canโt wait to welcome even more people to experience Fitness+.”
