Los Angeles Apple Card Customers Can Delay Repayments

Apple and Goldman Sachs are offering financial relief to Apple Card users impacted by the devastating fires in Los Angeles, allowing them to temporarily delay payments without facing interest charges for the month they enroll in the Disaster Relief Program.

This initiative aims to provide support to those experiencing financial strain due to the ongoing natural disaster, ensuring affected customers have the flexibility needed during this challenging time.

The relief option is available to Apple Card holders living in areas officially declared national disaster zones by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency). Apple has begun notifying eligible customers directly, informing them of the opportunity to defer their upcoming monthly payment without penalty. Importantly, no interest will accumulate during the enrolled month, and accounts in good standing will remain current throughout the duration of the program. However, once the relief period concludes, standard purchase APR will apply as usual for subsequent billing cycles.

To enroll in the Disaster Relief Program, eligible Apple Card users can contact Apple Card Support through the Messages app on their iPhone or iPad. Apple has emphasized that this program is designed to offer peace of mind during emergencies and help customers focus on personal recovery without immediate financial pressure.

This Disaster Relief Program is part of Apple’s ongoing commitment to supporting communities during times of crisis. Similar payment relief options have been extended in the past to Apple Card holders affected by hurricanes and other natural disasters since the card’s launch in 2019.

In addition to financial assistance, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced that the company plans to donate funds to aid relief and recovery efforts on the ground in Los Angeles. Cook expressed Apple’s solidarity with those affected, emphasizing the importance of community support during such critical times.

Apple’s proactive approach in offering financial relief and direct aid during disasters underscores its broader commitment to corporate responsibility and customer care.
