Apple has unveiled an update to its entry-level iPhone in the form of the third-generation SE, revealing that it will house an A15 Bionic chip; the design, however, will be the same as the previous version of the device.
The iPhone SE 3 will go on sale in three colors – midnight, starlight, and (PRODUCT)RED – and come in what Apple has described as a “compact and durable design”, using the same front and back glass as the iPhone 13.
Underneath, prospective buyers are likely to be especially attracted to the handset’s support for 5G connectivity, as well as its enhanced battery life, ensured by the efficient A15 chip.
Such other features as the 12-megapixel camera with Deep Fusion and impressive computational photography technology, as well as IP67 water resistance, will further appeal to cost-conscious iPhone buyers who also appreciate having a powerful and sophisticated smartphone. On the camera front, the device also offers such advanced features as Smart HDR 4 and Photographic Styles.
Apple has confirmed that preorders for the iPhone SE 3 will start on March 11, followed by the device becoming available on March 18. Its retail price of $429 will be $30 higher than that for the second-generation iPhone SE.
