Apple Could Release 6.1-inch and 6.5-inch OLED Screen iPhones This Year

A rumor from popular Japanese Apple blog Macotakara has suggested that Apple will release two iPhone models in 2019 with screen sizes bigger than six inches.

Although previous rumors suggested that Apple would release iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max successors with the same design and chassis, news from this reputable source now suggests that Apple could introduce new models with 6.1-inch and 6.5-inch OLED displays.

These new iPhones would be sized so that they could accommodate a triple-camera system on the iPhone, offering better image stability and performance.

Reputable source

Whilst iPhone rumors should always be taken with a pinch of salt, particularly months before release, these latest reports come from a source with a reputable track record, with insider information often offered by suppliers working on the iPhone development and production lines.

With a triple-lens component, the 2019 iPhone lineup could include the largest iPhone to date, although the company is planning to make the chassis thinner to offset the size increase and reduce the weight of the iPhone.

All three to receive three lenses?

Popular Apple blogger OnLeaks weighed in on the reports, suggesting that all three new iPhone 2019 models will include a triple-lens camera. If true, this would be the first time that all iPhone models included the same high-end features, with many – including double cameras and functionality – are often reserved for the ‘Pro’ or ‘Max’ models.
