The iPhone 16e boasts the A18 chip, ensuring fast performance, extended battery life, and integration with Apple Intelligence, all wrapped in a design that promises durability and style.

The iPhone 16e is designed with a blend of elegance and robustness, available in black and white matte finishes with colorful case options for personalization. Pre-orders kick off this Friday, February 21, with the phone hitting the shelves on February 28.

Kaiann Drance, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing, expressed enthusiasm about the new model, stating, “iPhone 16e packs in the features our users love about the iPhone 16 lineup, including breakthrough battery life, fast performance powered by the latest-generation A18 chip, an innovative 2-in-1 camera system, and Apple Intelligence. We’re so excited for iPhone 16e to complete the lineup as a powerful, more affordable option to bring the iPhone experience to even more people.”

Design

Two smartphones are stacked. The top phone displays a circular, abstract design with a notch at the top of the screen. Both phones are white, showing side buttons, against a pastel gradient background. The Apple logo is at the bottom right.

The iPhone 16e sports a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display, offering an immersive viewing experience for videos, gaming, and reading. It’s built with Ceramic Shield for the front cover, ensuring it’s tougher than any smartphone glass available, and the back glass is the most durable Apple has produced. The device is also splash, water, and dust resistant with an IP68 rating.

Powered by the A18 chip, the iPhone 16e delivers a performance boost with an up to 80% faster CPU than the A13 Bionic and a GPU designed for high-end gaming. The integration of Apple’s first cellular modem, the C1, offers power-efficient 5G connectivity, enhancing battery life significantly.

Apple Intelligence

The iPhone 16e is tailored for Apple Intelligence, providing features like natural language search in Photos, the ability to clean up images, and creative tools like Image Playground and Genmoji. Siri becomes more conversational, and with the integration of ChatGPT, users can leverage AI assistance directly from their device, maintaining high privacy standards with on-device processing and Private Cloud Compute.

Camera System

Two iPhones are shown overlapping, one in white and the other in black, displaying their rear cameras and Apple logos. The background features a gradient of warm colors transitioning from orange to pink. The Apple logo is visible in the corner.

The 48MP Fusion camera system is a highlight, offering superior photo quality with computational photography, including Night mode and Portrait mode. It features an integrated 2x Telephoto for optical zoom, making it like having two cameras in one. Video capabilities are enhanced with 4K Dolby Vision recording at 60 fps, spatial audio, and advanced audio editing options.

Amazing Features

Beyond cellular and Wi-Fi, the iPhone 16e supports satellite connectivity for emergency services, roadside assistance, messaging, and location sharing, ensuring users are never truly out of reach. Crash Detection further adds to the safety features, capable of automatically calling emergency services in severe accidents.

With iOS 18, the iPhone 16e becomes more customizable with new Home Screen arrangements, enhanced privacy settings, and better messaging capabilities including RCS support for richer media sharing with non-Apple devices.

Apple continues its environmental push with the iPhone 16e, incorporating over 30% recycled content, aiming for carbon neutrality by 2030, and using entirely fiber-based packaging to reduce plastic use.

How Much Does iPhone 16e Cost?
