Apple will donate to the National Park Foundation when users check out with Apple Pay in the United States.
The company confirmed on the homepage of its US website that all purchases made through the Apple Store using Apple Pay would see Apple donate to the foundation, and there’s a new dedicated Apple Watch Challenge on schedule to help alert users to the promo.
“Letās take a day to appreciate the beauty of national parks all over the world. On August 28, earn this award by recording a hike, walk, run, or wheelchair workout of a mile (1.6 km) or more with any app that adds workouts to Health,” the Apple Watch Challenge says.
“We are celebrating our national parks with a donation for each Apple Pay purchase at an Apple Store, on apple.com, or through the Apple Store app in the U.S. from August 23-29,” the company says on its Apple.com website.
For the first 100,000 transactions, Apple will donate to the foundation, though it says users must spend at least $10. The firm also doesn’t confirmed exactly how much of every purchase it will donate to the charity. Last year, Apple donated $1,000,000 to the National Park Foundation, and the year prior, it donated $10 per select Apple Pay transactions, so it’s likely to be similar.
