Apple has announced it has overhauled its Everyone Can Code curriculum, introducing more elementary and middle school students to the world of coding.
The new curriculum includes even more resources for teachers, a brand new guide for students and updated Swift Coding Club materials.
Apple says that millions of students in 5,000 schools around the world are already using the Everyone Can Code curriculum, “to bring their ideas to life and develop important skills including creativity, collaboration and problem-solving”.
Now, the company is expanding the offering and learners can register for free sessions at Today at Apple, with all Apple Stores helping consumers write their first lines of code.
Apple is integrating its Everyone Can Create ideologies and project guidelines to allow students to express themselves through drawings, videos, music, and photos.
The new program is designed to unleash kids’ creativity throughout the school day, with Everyone Can Create offering pre- and high-school teachers around the world fun and meaningful tools to easily fold creativity skills into their existing lesson plans.
Apple will open its Today at Apple coding sessions from December 1, offering thousands of opportunities for learners to get closer to code.
The scheme is in celebration of Computer Science Education Week, and the company is offering free interactive sessions provide opportunities for participants at a variety of skill levels to get started with coding.
For total coding beginners, Apple’s sessions will explore block-based coding with robots, and those who are more advanced can begin using Swift Playgrounds to learn coding concepts and code augmented reality experiences, empowering the next generation of developers.
