Apple could overtake HP as the laeding manufacturer of all-in-one computers.
According to DigiTimes, the company’s new 24-inch iMac could help Apple overtake HP as the world’s leading vendor of all-in-one computers.
Speaking of the news, DigiTimes said: “The sources pointed out that high-end AIO PCs such as the iMac are only seeing a limited impact from component shortages, but entry-level to mid-range products priced between NT$15,000 (US$536.51) and NT$30,000 have been hit much harder.
“Several ODMs have already halted their production for many AIO PCs because of component shortage, but iMac production remains unaffected, the sources said.”
Last year, HP was named the world’s largest brand for all-in-one computers, selling almost a million units in the fourth quarter of last year alone, compared to Apple’s 860,000. Lenovo followed in third place with 731,000 units.
However, thanks to the significant overhaul of the iMac, Apple should now comfortably overtake them both.
