Apple will finally allow users to stream their Apple Fitness+ workouts to other devices as part of the iOS 14.5 release, making it easier to work out from your TV or another large screen.

As part of the iOS 14.5 and watchOS 7.4 beta, AirPlay 2 support has been added to the Fitness+ app, a long-requested feature that means workouts can be streamed to compatible TV sets from an iPhone or iPad, allowing users to enjoy a full-screen workout experience.

Up until now, Fitness+ workouts only played on iOS, iPadOS, and Apple TV devices.

Now, Apple will beam audio and video content from Apple Fitness+ workouts to any TV or box that supports AirPlay, though metrics from your workout wonā€™t be displayed on-screen.

If you want to see things such as your activity rings, workout time, and calories burned, youā€™ll need to look at your iPhone or Apple Watch. If you have an Apple TV box, youā€™ll enjoy the full Apple Fitness+ experience, with metrics appearing on the big screen as you work out.
