Apple has issued its first update to iOS 9. This minor release, iOS 9.0.1, fixes a number of bugs that had been noticed since the launch of iOS 9 last week, including issues with setup and Safari.
iOS 9 has been well-received since its post-beta public debut, and already been downloaded to a significant proportion of iOS devices, according to an Apple press release on Monday. This new update appreciably addresses a few teething problems that have arose.
These problems included, for some users, an inability to complete the setup assistant after updating to iOS 9, occasional failures of alarms and timers to play, and a peculiar issue in Safari and Photos where paused video frames could look distorted. Some users could also lose cellular data if they used a custom APN setup via a profile.
All of these issues can now be rectified simply by downloading iOS 9.0.1. Further minor updates could follow before iOS 9.1, which will enable the upcoming iPad Pro’s compatibility with the new accessories of the Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil.
