Ahead of the retail launch of the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus this Friday, Apple has today reported an “incredibly positive” customer response to the new phones.
The news of this strong reception was broken by Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Phil Schiller, who enthused that “we can’t wait to get our most advanced iPhones ever into customers’ hands starting this Friday”.
Millions of the new iPhones that were preordered from September 12 should arrive at customers’ doorsteps on that day, while many more are set to arrive over the following few weeks. Apple also announced that the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus will be available to buy in person from Apple’s retail stores from 8am local time on launch day.
The new handsets will come with the updated operating system iOS 9. This was released as a free update for older iOS devices on Wednesday, and Schiller claimed it “is also off to an amazing start, on pace to be downloaded by more users than any other software release in Apple’s history.”
