Apple Hikes Production Orders for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus

How popular will the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, expected to be formally unveiled on Wednesday, be? Probably even more popular than Apple had originally predicted, judging from a new report that the company has increased order volumes for parts and components set for the upcoming devices.

Citing sources from the Taiwan-based iPhone supply chain, DigiTimes says that Apple has revised upward these orders by 10%. The sources reportedly added that, according to this hike, Apple is optimistic about the demand for the new iPhones from the current iPhone user base.

Another possible factor is Samsung’s recent decision to recall units of its recently released Galaxy Note 7 smartphone. Many units are prone to setting fire due to faulty batteries, and several of the phablet’s would-be buyers could be tempted by its most prominent rival, the iPhone 7 Plus.
