Apple has indefinitely delayed the return of its office staff heading back to the office.
The company has confirmed to employees that they’ll no longer need to return to the corporate office in February due to the ongoing threat of the COVID-19 pandemic and the new Omicron variant which is sweeping the world.

Last month, Apple told employees that they’d need to begin returning to the office from February 1, 2022, but it now seems that the date has indefinitely been pushed back, following close to two years of remote working.
Rather than adopting the policy of some companies which have allowed staff to work from home permanently, Apple has insisted that its staff are more productive in the office. As a result, Tim Cook has said that the return to the office date is ‘do be determined’ rather than letting staff work from home forever. Earlier in the year, Cook said: “Video conference calling has narrowed the distance between us, to be sure, but there are things it simply cannot replicate.”
Apple has already implemented a new hybrid working policy, so staff can work from the office three days per week and work from home up to two days per week. Apple has also said that staff will be allowed to work remotely for a month of the year, so they can travel and be closer to their loved ones.
