Apple has always been a company that supports saving the environment. Last week, to celebrate Earth Day they debuted their latest effort to help the planet, Daisy – the disassembly robot.
A video was posted on Apple’s YouTube channel showing the capabilities of the robot and how it takes our old devices and recycles them in a way that is not harmful to the environment.
It was also announced that for each device traded in or recycled through Apple before April 30, a donation would be made to a non-profit environmental company called Conservation International. A company that has worked to save the environment in over 30 different counties worldwide.
Environmental Cheif Lisa Jackson made a statement saying,
“we’re constantly working toward smart solutions to address climate change and conserve our planet’s precious resources. In recognition of Earth Day, we are making it as simple as possible for our customers to recycle devices and do something good for the planet through Apple GiveBack.”
It is no lie that Apple strives to ensure that their efforts to the planet are decent and worthwhile as it something that the company was built on. They also announced that facilities worldwide were powered by renewable, clean energy not harming the planet around them. This was published in their 2018 Environmental Report that showed how Apple conserved energy and the precious resources that they take from to build the devices we use every day.
