Apple has introduced the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max at its Special Event, ushering in the next generation of smartphones with a 5G experience and new technologies that take the iPhone to new heights.
With a new design and breathtaking internals, these are Apple’s most advanced iPhones yet – and they’re in your hands in just over a weeks’ time.
Tim Cook and Co showed off the new pro models during a virtual presentation, revealing the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max’s striking new design, inspired by the iPhone 4.
Each model has edge-to-edge Super Retina XDR displays, the largest ever on an iPhone, and they’re protected by the all-new Ceramic Shield front cover, which makes the iPhone screen tougher and more durable – designed to weather the elements.
As with the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini, also announced at today’s event, the company is bringing the power of the A14 Bionic chip to the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, making it the most advanced iPhone to date.
Combined with features such as ProRAW for more creative control in photos and end-to-end Dolby Vision video in 60 frames per second, and it’s clear why consumers and professionals will be queuing up to get their hands on these new high-end devices.
Apple says it has “reimagined” the camera system on the device, introducing an expansive Ultra Wide camera, a Telephoto camera with an even longer focal length on iPhone 12 Pro Max, and new Wide cameras to capture beautiful professional-quality images and video in bright and low-light environments.
Both Pro models also bring the LiDAR Scanner from the iPad Pro, offering immersive augmented reality, and MagSafe has been introduced to offer faster and more streamlined wireless charging and new options for accessories.
The company is introducing the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max in four stainless steel color options, including graphite, silver, gold, and pacific blue. The Cupertino firm will launch the iPhone 12 Pro on October 16, with preorders from this Friday, whilst the iPhone 12 Pro Max will launch on November 13.
