Apple likely to name the next iPhone the iPhone 11 Pro

Apple is planning to release at least one ‘Pro’ iPhone this year, according to reports.

Apple insider CoinX, who in the past has leaked accurate information about new and upcoming Apple products, has suggested that the next iPhone would be the iPhone 11 Pro.

CoinX previously leaked the names of the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR before any other insider, as well as the removal of the headphone jack on the iPad Pro.

In his latest revolution, CoinX tweeted: “Pro for iPhone? Crazy naming schemes over the past few years,” suggesting that the Cupertino company was planning a Pro iPhone for the first time, bringing it in line with its iPad and MacBook naming structures.

Other reports have suggested that the new iPhone featuring a square camera bump will be named the iPhone 11 Pro (possibly the successor to the iPhone XS Max) whilst the iPhone XS successor will sport the iPhone 11 name, and the XR successor sport the name 11R.

Of course, nothing is certain and we won’t know for sure what Apple is planning to name its trio of new iPhones until next month when Tim Cook and Co lift the lid on the next batch of smartphones.

Apple is widely predicted to release three new phones, two higher-end 5.8-inch, and 6.5-inch OLED models and a cheaper 6.1-inch LCD model.

Although no major design changes are expected from last year’s models, the iPhones are expected to feature triple-lens camera systems, bigger batteries, and two-way wireless charging for the first time.
