Apple has been named the most intimate brand during the coronavirus pandemic.
According to MBLM’s Brand Intimacy COVID Study, which looked at top international brands and their emotional connection to consumers during the health emergency, Apple came out on top, the first fruits of the company’s marketing and branding strategies employed in 2020.
Other technology companies like Amazon and Google entered into the top three, whilst Disney, PlayStation, and Walmart also made the top ten. Check out the full top ten list:
First: Apple
Second: Amazon
Third: Google
Fourth: Walmart
Fifth: YouTube
Sixth: Toyota
Seventh: Disney
Eighth: Netflix
Ninth: Chevrolet
Tenth: PlayStation
The annual survey took a different tone this year amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and saw new entries from Google, YouTube, and Toyota. Speaking of this year’s rankings, a representative from MBLM said: “There has also been a shift in focus with more media and entertainment brands in the top 10 and fewer automotive brands, suggesting consumers turned to the enjoyment provided by media and entertainment brands and became less reliant on their cars.”
The survey also found that there has been a 23% increase in the number of brands users connect with. Zoom was the big winner in this regard, whilst Purell and Netflix featured, too.
