Apple has announced a brand new tier to its Apple Music streaming service.
The Apple Music Voice Plan is targeted at those who only listen to music from their HomePod or AirPods, allowing them to use Siri to activate music, and it’s 50% cheaper than the standard Apple Music package.
Apple says that consumers will be able to access more than 90 million songs as well as tens of thousands of playlists using its Siri assistant. Users can try out the new assistant by saying “Hey Siri, start my Apple Music Voice trial,” into their smart speaker or using Siri on their AirPods, and the plan works across multiple devices.
Speaking of the launch, Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music and Beats, said: “Apple Music and Siri are natural partners and already work seamlessly together.
“With Siri actively used on hundreds of millions of devices worldwide, we are thrilled to add this new plan that delivers an effortless music experience just by using your voice and makes Apple Music accessible to even more people around the world.”
Apple will bring the new plan to 17 countries and regions later this fall, with key markets including Australia, Austria, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
