Apple won’t release any more new Macs in 2022, despite rumors of the contrary.
It’s now believed that the new versions of the MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and Mac Pro will be released in the first quarter of next year, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. He had previously suggested that Apple was planning to release the new Macs later this October or in early November ahead of the Christmas period, but it appears that Apple’s plans changed.
Speaking of the delay, Gurman said: “I’m told that Apple is aiming to introduce the upgraded models—including M2-based versions of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros—in the first quarter of calendar 2023.”
The new comes after Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed that the company’s “product lineup is set” for the year, suggesting that there wouldn’t be any additional product announcements before the holiday season.
Apple is working on new Apple Mac products with 24 CPU cores (including 16 performance and eight efficiency cores), 76 graphics cores, and 192GB of memory – it’s expected that the new Mac Pro will be featured by the M2 Ultra and M2 Extreme, whilst the MacBook Pro refresh will see M2 Pro and M2 Max chips added.
