Apple reportedly now holds a 5.1% share of the smart speaker market.

That’s because of the company’s ongoing success with the HomePod mini smart speaker, which offers a more affordable price point and allows consumers to enjoy a consistent, unified smart speaker experience across all of their devices.

According to new data from Strategy Analytics shows that the HomePod mini has finally pushed Apple in the smart speaker market.

“In the overall smart speaker and smart display market in Q2 2021, the leaderboard remained unchanged, with Amazon at No. 1 followed by Google, Baidu, Alibaba, and Apple, respectively,” the report found “The gap between the top five and the rest of the market continued to expand as these companies dominate entry-level ($50 to $99) and ultra-low ($49 and less) price bands, with Appleā€™s surge powered by its HomePod Mini.”

Apple reportedly shipped 4 million HomePod units during the quarter, giving it a 5.1% market share in the smart speaker sector.

This is up from the 2.1 million units sold in the same quarter last year, resulting in a 92% jump in sales year-over-year.
