Apple offering AirPods users a six-month free Apple Music trial

iPhone and Airpods

Apple is ramping up promotion on its music streaming service with a new free trial offering.

The Cupertino company has begun offering a six-month free trial of Apple Music whenever a customer purchases AirPods or Beats headphones, and it’s offered to both new and existing customers.

Users have up to 90 days to take advantage of the offer, which will appear when they first pair their new headphones to an Apple device. For existing users, they’ll have 90 days from the time they upgraded to new version of iOS. Those currently subscribed to Apple Music, and those with an Apple One subscription package, are not eligible to take advantage of the scheme.

To utilize the offer, you’ll need to run iOS 15 or iPadOS 15, open the Apple Music app after pairing your AirPods or Beats headphones, and wait for the prompt. You’ll need to buy a second-gen version of the AirPods, AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, Powerbeats Pro, Powerbeats, Beats Solo Pro, or Beats Studio Buds to take advantage of the offer – no other headphones are included as part of this deal.

Apple previously offered Beats headphones customers a shorter free trial, but it now appears as though the full 90-day offer has been extended to get more consumers to give the service a go.
