Apple is offering businesses the chance to buy MacBooks at a steep discount.

In an unusual move for the Cupertino company, Apple appears to be clearing stock ahead of the rumored M2 Pro and M2 Max MacBook Pro models, set to be released in early 2023, and is offering current models to businesses with a larger-than-usual discount.

Indeed, brands wanting to buy the newest 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro can save up to 10% off their purchase. According to promo for the discount, Apple has described the deal as a “very special Mac campaign.”

Apple’s sales teams have reportedly been informed of the deal and have begun reaching out to businesses that might be interested. It would be the first time that Apple begins reaching out to businesses to buy their MacBooks and other products and a significant change in pitch for the firm.

The deal is as follows: businesses that purchase between 5 and 24 MacBook Pros will save 8% off the cost. For those buying more than 25 units, a 10% discount will be applied. The real runs across both the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro configurations and reportedly runs through December 24.

The news comes at the same time as Apple warned of a “substantial” drop in Mac revenue after a bumper year in 2021. The promotion will also tie into Apple’s plan to reduce inventory of its models at the successors are expected to follow in the months ahead.
