Originally announced alongside the new MacBook Pro in October, the LG UltraFine 5K Display has now become available to purchase for the temporary price of $974 through Apple’s US website.
This external monitor, which can connect to any Mac that runs macOS Sierra 10.12.1 and has a Thunderbolt 3 port, features a 27-inch screen and built-in camera and stereo speakers. Apple recommends it for use in photo and video editing and watching hi-res videos.
Until today, the product had been listed as due for December availability; this remains the case on Apple’s websites for countries other than the US and Canada. Furthermore, where the display has become available for ordering, it won’t start shipping until January.
Still, as the current price will rise to the standard $1,299 at the end of 2016, it would be the wiser option to order the LG UltraFine 5K Display now rather than in January.
