Apple has announced a rare partnership with Japenese lifestyle brand AMBUSh, launching a new pair of headphones, the first Beats headphones to feature glow-in-the-dark paint.
The new AMBUSH Powerbeats offer the same functionality and features that have been available since launch. As well as a wireless design, the headphones feature a cable between each earbud, making them the preferred choice for those working out or on the go, who are worried their AirPods will fall out of their ears.
The Powerbeats also come with Apple’s H1 chip, allowing for Hey Siri support out-of-the-box and automatic device switching as part of iOS 14 and macOS Big Sur.
In the box, users will find four ear tip size options as well as a Lightning to USB-A charging cable, and can expect around 15 hours of battery life on a single charge. The headphones are sweat and water-resistant with an IPX4 rating, and feature Fast Fuel technology, which allows users to get up to an hour of audio playback on just five minutes of charging.
The new design is certainly striking, and offers consumers another choice when upgrading their headphones. Yoon Ahn, co-founder of AMBUSH, said of the product: “I live in the middle of Shibuya and I am always inspired by how the city just glows at night time.
“I thought it would be really cool to design a product that could capture that same city energy when you’re outside late at night listening to music. This collaboration was designed for everyone who is confident, having fun, being creative and trying new things — those kids always seem to glow the brightest.”
The new Powerbeats are available to purchase from Apple.com from today, at $199.95.
