The payments service Apple Pay has just launched in its eleventh market, New Zealand, through a partnership with ANZ bank. Various retailers in the country are now accepting Apple Pay payments.
Apple has, as MacRumors reports, dropped the “Coming Soon” label from its New Zealand webpage for Apple Pay, while the Kiwi website Stuff has confirmed that the service is indeed functional in the Oceania country – though, for now, only ANZ-issued Visa credit and debit cards are supported.
Apple Pay can be used on all iPhone, Apple Watch and iPad models released in 2014 or later for more quick and secure payments. In-store payments are, however, only possible with the iPhone and Apple Watch models, while iOS devices running iOS 10 and Macs running macOS Sierra can also use the service on some websites.
Business locations accepting Apple Pay in New Zealand include McDonald’s, Domino’s, K-Mart, Glassons, Hallenstein Brothers, Noel Leeming, Stevens and Storm. Apple Pay is also available in the United States, the United Kingdom, China, Australia, Canada, Switzerland, Hong Kong, France, Singapore and Russia.
