Apple Pay Heading to Germany, Apple Website Leaks Suggest

Germany could be the next country where the payments service Apple Pay launches, judging from peculiar signs that have arisen on parts of Apple’s own website.

Numerous German blogs, as noted by MacRumors, last week pointed out an Apple Pay availability map where Apple had highlighted Germany as a territory offering the payment service. The map has since been corrected, but that’s not the only hint that Apple Pay may be on its way to Deutschland…

As later discovered by Reddit user Alisamix, using the search term “Apple Pay” on Apple’s German site brings up links for an inactive apple.com/de Apple Pay page and German-language support pages for the service.

Apple could use its October 27 event to announce Apple Pay’s arrival in Germany. The event is expected to see Apple take the veil off a revamped MacBook Pro, a big focus in the new AppleMagazine issue, with its own Touch ID sensor. This could further ease web-based Apple Pay payments on the device.
