Apple Pay launches in Qatar

Apple Pay

Apple has launched its Apple Pay service in Qatar.

The company’s latest expansion sees its popular Apple Pay service now available on the iPhone, Apple Watch, and Mac in the Qatar region, adding another country to Apple’s bow and taking the contactless payments service even closer to global adoption.

Apple Pay will launch with the QNB Group bank, which is the “largest financial institution in the Middle East and Africa,” though it’s likely that other banks and financial institutions will follow suit in the months ahead.

Dukhan Bank is another institution offering Apple Pay at launch in the country, offering customers a safer and more secure way to pay. Users can head to the Wallet app on their iPhone and connect their credit or debit card to their smartphone and Apple ID, allowing them to pay for goods and services digitally and in-person at select retailers that support contactless payment methods such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, and contactless cards.
