Apple Pay to launch in South Korea today

Apple Pay officially launches in South Korea today.

Since the service was introduced, Apple has slowly been introducing the payment method in new countries, and some have taken longer than others due to regulatory barriers. Now, The service has launched in South Korea, after first being announced by a local bank that Apple Pay would begin from November 30.

Tommy Boi on Twitter shared the advert, in which Hyundai Card was promoting Apple Pay support from November 30.

Last month, The Korea Herald reported that some consumers in the country were able to access Apple Pay terms and conditions when they tried to add a card to the Wallet app. It’s not yet known whether the service will only work with Hyundai Card or whether other banks and cards will add support fort the service.
